Baal wanted to bite the asshole who thought he had a right to guide and flirt with Jade, but he had a mission and so did she, and technically, she was doing a great job using the man to meet their ends. So he slipped off her leg, hating to leave the warm, intimate place high on her thigh. He was upstairs and Marianna’s private rooms were the likely place to find the ring, since it wasn’t obviously downstairs being displayed.

He slithered along the wall and sniffed out her bedroom. It was easy to find. He followed the smell of magic and herbs.

She was there, standing in front of a mirror dressed in a black corset and thong, red high heels, and nothing else. Her long blonde hair reached her waist and hung loose around her; she was amazing to look at. Of course, he’d seen her in less, so he wasn’t impressed. He knew she was black and twisted on the inside, unlike Jade who was innocent and adventurous.

“Baal, I thought I might see you tonight,” she said as he slithered in.

Baal didn’t bother hiding. He shifted back to human form, standing before her naked and unashamed. “Marianna, nice party you have going on downstairs.”

“Yes, a bunch of freeloaders coming to look and eat and drink.”

“Which is something you love, so why are you not down there enjoying the energy?”

She turned to face him, stuck out her chest and pouted her lips. “Because, darling, I was expecting you.” She took a couple steps, and reached out to draw a finger along his chest. “I’ve missed you.”

“I thought you hated me.”

“That was a long time ago. Now I realize the value of a man who can please me in bed. No one quite compares to you, Baal,” she whispered and leaned close.

“You have a ring I want,?” he said, not playing into her game.

“Yes,” she said with a sigh and turned away to look in the mirror again. “I knew it would draw your attention.”

“So let me have it then.”

“Oh yes, for a price,” she said with a stretch, doing her best to display her body for him.

“What do you want,” he asked, even though he could already guess.

“You,” she said, twirling around quickly and throwing herself at him. She kissed him deep, forcing her tongue into his mouth and running her hands down his back.

His body reacted to her familiar touch against his better judgement, rising and swelling to meet her caress. She pushed her hips against him, grinding almost painfully against him, and she moaned. She’d always enjoyed inflicting a little bit of pain, and he hadn’t hated it either, he had to admit. It would be so easy to give her what she wanted and get the ring. No one would have to know, he reasoned, returning the kiss. He grabbed her arms and forced her body against his roughly, taking out his frustration in the kiss. She moaned and responded eagerly, not afraid of his power or strength.
